Congratulations to Polly Pitcairn-Knowles, Year 12, who was part of the Gold medal winning U17 Girls’ Kent team in the South of England Inter-counties cross country race. Polly finished 46th in the race held in very windy conditions.
Two teams from Weald of Kent participated in the annual West Kent Model United Nations General Assembly (MUNGA). Abigail Payne, Year 13, won the prestigious award for the Best Delegate at the conference.
For a third year, magnificent moustache brooches have been created by the Design and Technology Department using a laser cutter, and sold in support of ‘Movember’.
Year 8 students have been selling these and have raised over £250.
A huge congratulations to the U14 Netball team who have made it to the County Finals on Saturday 28 November. They played extremely well, winning eight out of nine games. Very best of luck for the finals!
Mrs Nina Ridge, former BBC weather presenter, educated at Weald of Kent and who now teaches Mathematics at Weald, invited to present a Pearson Teaching Award in recognition of her return to teaching after 15 years in broadcasting.
