On Thursday, 20 October, students from years 10 to 13 watched a performance of “The Strange Case of Doctor Jekyll and Mr Hyde” adapted by the Box Clever Theatre Company from the Novella by Robert Louis Stevenson.
Box Clever is an award-winning, writer-led theatre company dedicated to the creation of contemporary theatre for young people.
For over twenty years, Box Clever has reached thousands of young people across the UK and beyond with artistic productions and workshops that are imaginative, exciting, and inspiring. Their production of “Jekyll and Hyde” enthralled audiences by the fast-paced acting of the three versatile cast members, who were joined in a workshop by volunteers from the audience to bring the characters to life.
One student noted “That was incredible – I couldn’t believe that just three actors could tell the whole story. They used the Frantic Assembly and DV8 methods we learn in GCSE Drama and they made the whole performance so accessible. Everyone was leaning forward to watch the details in the interaction.”
