Weald of Kent Grammar School has been awarded ‘good’ in all judgement areas by Ofsted in our latest inspection.
We are extremely pleased that the hard work of our staff has been recognised. The students at Weald are our greatest asset. They value the school’s caring and nurturing ethos and are enthusiastic about the changes the school has undergone in the last two years.
The report highlights several areas in particular where our school has demonstrated significant improvement, including that:
• improvements have been underpinned by a change in the school’s ethos and culture
• there is a strong emphasis on student welfare and helping to develop confident young people so that this helps students to trust that staff will help them and they feel confident to alert staff to any concerns
• teachers are adept at checking what pupils know and understand
• the provision for personal, social and health education (PSHE) has been transformed.
