Conservation in action

15 Students from Years 7 and 8, chosen for their passion for conservation and eagerness to work with others, represented Weald at a ISSP conservation-based workshop at Mascalls Academy.

Weald recently joined the Independent and State School Partnership (ISSP) - a collaborative project in West Kent involving Skinners, Kent College and Oakley amongst others – and this was the second ISSP workshop our students have attended. This year's project is around the theme of Conservation and making a difference to our local area.

During the workshop the students used waste materials to create bug boxes to place on our school site. Working in small groups with students from other schools, they planned a project that will have a positive impact on the environment at Weald. They already have plans for an inter-house competition and we look forward to following their progress throughout the year.
